Ok so I’ve just been made redundant and the rest of life is staring me in the face as if to say ‘So what’s next?’ Good question and if I had all the answers I probably wouldn’t be sitting here writing a blog entry no one will ever (probably) read … I hear a rendition of eleanor rigby coming on … but I do know one thing and that is if you don’t at least make a start then there is no ‘jolly hooting ptang ptang’ way that anything will happen.

So like the saying says, start that 1000 mile journey with a single step and for me this is it – a lonely (albeit surrounded by millions of others) blog entry signalling my entry into the world of online branding. The difference is that now I’m no longer doing it for a multinational corporation – I’m doing it for myself in an effort to put food on the table (ok that’s a wee bit of drama queen there, but you get the point).

I’m unlikely to be the next Seth Godin, David Meerman Scott or Guy Kawaski but you never know if you don’t try. Go on, find your online voice, don’t be afraid to put it out there. Sure it may be politically incorrect, smudged with personal bias or just plain wrong, but it’s your opinion and that’s how this whole thing works – if the internet was just basic facts all the time it would just be one very big, and boring, book all in black and white. Get out there and splash some colour around!

So now you sky blue with a bit of red for being the new kid on the block. Well done was nice to hear of your good fortune. Was going to blog on your new site, just didn’t feel right.

Thanks Graham, I’m trying to stay positive and it’s been great getting everyones messages of support. Insipid yellow has its place in the spectrum :). I’m still figuring out what my colour is (trying a few different colours!) but I’ll probably end up going with sky blue …

Sorry to hear about your demise, will keep an eye out for you.
Weak insipid yellow for me at this time. What yours? (colour)
    Regards
    Graham
