If you don’t have existing branding then the transition to a new look is often easier – simply browse any of the available WordPress themes and choose one that suits your tastes and your business. There are literally thousands of different themes available, from free to premium, blog style to e-commerce, and everything in between. A quick Google search brings up a host of designer companies who offer their themes at affordable prices, whether it’s ThemeForest, Woo Themes or StudioPress, they all offer state-of-the-art designer themes that can be just the ticket to giving your website a brand new look.

I’ve got a new theme – now what?

Once you’ve got a new theme, or chosen one (we can take care of the rest), what happens next? The new theme is applied to your website using the WordPress admin tool. This provides a starting point for your new design. We say starting point because even though themes save a lot of work when it comes to changing the look of your website, they still need to be customised for your specific needs.

Additional work to make sure your new theme is exactly the way you want it can include:

  • Modifying colours
  • Adding your logo
  • Updating the standard placeholder text
  • Changing images used
  • Ensuring your existing content (text) looks correct in the new layout
