Rugby World Cup 2011 – All Blacks by 18
The RWC final is happening on Sunday and New Zealand is quietly, or not so quietly, confident of a win. I think most of us were more worried last week against the wallabies, and had a few of us contemplating what would happen if we lost. But it didn’t happen and the ABs happily marched on to the finals (which some friends of mine who bought tickets for the final back in February are...

Thinking of heading back to the house of pain after 6 weeks of hanging about in post-quake Christchurch? Has your gym just reopened and in an effort to get some normality back in your life you feel some routine self-flagellation fitness would help? The council gyms at Centennial and QE2 are still closed and have an uncertain future but a council gym has just opened in Parklands...

Not that anyone needs an excuse to get away for a couple of days but my mate Blair gave me the perfect one the other week. Two days at the man cave in scenic central Otago, staying on the shores of Lake Alexandrina, a smallish lake wedged neatly between the mesmerising blue of Lake Tekapo and the mighty power-generating waters of Lake Pukaki. The countryside is simply stunning. Some might call it...
